Glass Chopping Board Care Guide

Glass Chopping Board Care Guide

Make it last. Keep it looking fabulous.

Our toughened glass chopping boards are bold, functional, and made to handle daily use. With a little care, yours can stay looking brilliant for years.

💧 Cleaning

  • Wipe clean with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge.

  • Avoid abrasive cleaners or metal scourers, which can affect the printed surface.

  • Hand wash only — dishwashers may reduce the vibrancy of the print and affect long-term durability.

❄️ Heat, Cold & Sudden Changes

Toughened (tempered) glass is highly durable, but like all glass of this type, it can be sensitive to extreme and sudden temperature changes — a phenomenon called thermal shock.

To avoid stress on the glass:

  • Don’t place hot pans directly onto a cold board.

  • Don’t rinse a hot board with cold water (or cold board with hot water).

  • Let your board return to room temperature naturally before cleaning.

⚠️ Impact & Micro-Stress

While extremely strong, tempered glass can still be affected by minor knocks or bumps over time — especially if dropped or banged on a hard surface. These can create tiny hairline flaws that aren’t visible but may lead to the board breaking later on.

This is incredibly rare, but worth being mindful of. We’ve sold thousands of boards and have only ever had a handful of breakage reports — it’s truly unusual, but not impossible.

If breakage does occur, rest assured that tempered glass is designed to break into small, blunt fragments rather than sharp shards — a safety feature to reduce the risk of injury.
